We have launched a new drop in surgery with Central Advocacy Partners. To book a space contact CAP on 01324 633 321 or call our office 0141 2582760.  This service provides free monthy legal advice specifically aimed at disabled people and their families. The same service is availble via us with Glasgow Centre for Inclusive Living.

So far we have been receiving great feedback. Appeal success rates are currently over 80%!

This is due to us recovering medical records and obtaining medical reports through the legal aid system to support the cases.  More importantly it has not cost our clients any money as they all qualified for Legal Aid. 

This new service  provides

• drop-in clinics for general advice
• advice and help on applying for Universal Credit, Employment Support Allowance and Personal Independence Payment
• advice on problems with self-directed payments and housing
• help and advice preparing for appeals
• representation at appeals
• advice on applications for and appeals of other benefit decisions
• home visits where necessary
• weekend and out of hours services
• community care law advice
• power of attorney and guardianship orders
• legal advice on and support to challenge decision makers   

We are looking for organisations to take part in offering free drop-in legal advice services to their members. If you have disabled or low income clients we can provide a drop in service at your offices free of charge at a time that suits you.

Please note 

• Legal Aid is available for those on benefits and low incomes
• Interpreter services are available (by appointment)
• We will come to you weekly, fortnightly, monthly, as agreed.
• We would need an accessible work space with internet access . 
• By offering more services your organisation may be able to attract more funding and more members.
